Membership of Indian Wrestling Federation cancelled.
United World Wrestling suspends membership of Wrestling Federation of India: Membership of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has been cancelled. United World Wrestling (UWW) has canceled this membership. The membership of the Wrestling Federation of India has been canceled due to the absence of elections.
According to the information, United World Wrestling wrote a letter to the Wrestling Federation of India in May. In which it was said that if the election of the Wrestling Federation of India is not held by July 15, its membership will be suspended. After which the election was to be held on July 11, but the office bearers of the Assam Wrestling Association had taken a stay of the election from the Assam High Court regarding the recognition of the association. However, the Adhoc Committee had given recognition to the Assam Wrestling Association. After this, the election was fixed on 12 August. But, a day before this, the Haryana High Court had banned it. After which the election for 15 posts in WFI could not be held.

Let us tell you that Indian women wrestlers had accused Brij Bhushan Sharan, President of Wrestling Federation of India, of sexual exploitation. There was a dispute about this for many months. Because of which the Sports Ministry suspended the office bearers of Wrestling Federation of India and formed an ADHOC committee. At the same time, a former judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court was made the election officer for the wrestling federation elections.
