Speaking to PTI before the final of the Under-19 World Cup, Araveli said, "My all time favorite player is Gilchrist. I have learned a lot by watching his videos. I admire his understanding of the game and his ability to believe in himself in every situation. Like him, I am also a left handed batsman and I wish to meet him once."

Watching cricket sitting on the sofa with his father was Avneesh’s favorite hobby since childhood. Regarding this he said, "I wanted to become a cricketer since childhood. Papa is a software engineer but is fond of cricket and while sitting with him and watching the match, I also got interested in this game."

Araveli now wants to learn a lot from Dhoni by becoming a part of Chennai Super Kings soon. He said that I admire Dhoni’s quality of remaining firm under pressure.
