This fine has been imposed on Delhi team due to slow over rate. The Delhi team did not bowl its quota of 20 overs in the stipulated time in the match against KKR. Delhi Capitals made this mistake for the second time in IPL 2024. For this reason, the entire team including captain Pant has been fined. Along with this, Pant is also in danger of being banned for one match.

A statement issued by the IPL said, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Vizag on April 3.

Pant fined Rs 24 lakh
Pant has been fined Rs 24 lakh while Delhi Capitals’ playing-11 (including the impact player) has been fined either Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their match fee, whichever is less.

Loss of other players of Delhi Capitals also
The press release further stated, "Pant has been fined Rs 24 lakh as this was the Delhi Capitals team’s second offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct related to minimum over rate offences. The remaining members of the playing eleven, including the impact player, have also been fined individually. Either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of his match fee, whichever is less."

Earlier, Delhi Capitals had bowled at a slow over rate in their previous match against Chennai Super Kings in Vizag also. After this, a fine of Rs 12 lakh was imposed on Pant. At the same time, the rest of the players of the team were also fined.
