G-20 Summit 2023: Before the Lok Sabha elections, cracks are now visible in the opposition alliance India. The G-20 summit has concluded in New Delhi and PM Modi has also handed over its chairmanship to Brazil. At the same time, TMC and Congress are at loggerheads over Mamata Banerjee’s participation in the G-20 dinner. Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has questioned West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s decision to attend the dinner hosted by President Draupadi Murmu on the occasion of the G-20 meeting in New Delhi on Sunday.
Adhir Ranjan Choudhary raised questions on Mamata Banerjee’s visit
Bengal state president Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said that when many non-BJP chief ministers avoided attending the G-20 summit dinner, Didi (Mamata Banerjee) went to Delhi a day earlier. He attended the occasion in the same room with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Adhir Ranjan Choudhary asked Mamata Banerjee whether there was any other reason behind her attending the occasion.
TMC hit back at Adhir Ranjan
Countering Adhir Ranjan Choudhary’s statement, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen said that everyone knows that Mamata Banerjee is one of the popular leaders of India. Sen said Choudhary would not decide when the state chief minister would visit to attend the G-20 dinner as per protocol. No one can raise questions about CM Mamata Banerjee’s visit.
BJP gave sharp reaction to TMC and Congress
BJP’s West Bengal spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya said that Congress itself has joined hands with the corrupt TMC in Delhi. It is the BJP which has been vocal against the corruption of TMC leaders. ED and CBI are conducting raids against him. BJP is with the people of Bengal. He said that people like Adhir Chaudhary should tell who is really insulting the people of the state by colluding with TMC.
