On the occasion of 74th Republic Day, this year also the Prime Minister of the country will hoist the national flag at the Red Fort in Delhi. There will be a grand parade on the duty path between Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi will be the chief guest of the 74th Republic Day celebrations. A military contingent from the Egyptian Army will also participate in the parade. The week-long Republic Day Iconic Events week will begin on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and end on January 30, on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day. Along with the traditional march-parade on the duty path, there will also be many special programs.


A military tattoo and tribal dance etc. Shaurya Parv Parakram program will be organized on January 23 and 24 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Apart from this, between 26 to 31 January 2023, Bharat Parv will be organized by the Ministry of Transport on the Gyan Path in front of the Red Fort. Police has issued a traffic advisory regarding Republic Day full dress parade rehearsal and Republic Day parade. Giving information about this, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav said that the full dress rehearsal on the night of 22 January from 10 to 23 January and the night of 25 January from 10 to 26 January till the end of the Republic Day program from Gautam Buddha Nagar in Delhi. Entry of goods vehicles (heavy, light and medium) will be restricted. For these days these paths can be used.

  • Vehicles entering Delhi from Chilla red light (border) and going to other places will be able to take a U-turn from Chilla red light and go towards their destination via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway via Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
  • Vehicles entering Delhi from DND (Border) and going elsewhere will be able to take a U-turn from DND toll plaza and go towards their destination via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway via Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
  • Vehicles entering Delhi from Kalindi Kunj Yamuna (Border) and going towards other places will be diverted from Yamuna river before underpass Tiraha, which will be able to reach their destination via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway via Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

On behalf of the police, people should plan to get out of the car in Delhi only after seeing the traffic plan. Heavy vehicles have been banned from Bhishma Pitam Marg, Lodhi Road to Andrews Ganj, Maharishi Raman Marg, Subramaniam Bharati Marg, Lodhi Road, Max Muller Marg, Arch Bishop Marg, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg. At the same time, people have also been appealed to avoid going on the routes leading to the venues.
