Preparations are going on in full swing across the country to celebrate Republic Day. The whole country is going to celebrate 74th Republic Day on 26 January 2023. The parade to be held in Delhi on this occasion will start at 10:30 am via Vijay Chowk and move towards the Red Fort. In this order, the parade is going to pass through Duty Path, C-Hexagon, Subhash Chandra Bose Gol Chakkar, Tilak Marg and Bahadur Shah Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and Red Fort.
On this occasion of Republic Day, the traffic system of Delhi is also going to be affected. For this, advisory has been issued by the traffic police. Apart from road traffic, metro service is also going to be affected. That’s why you must also take a look at this advisory, so that tomorrow you do not face any kind of problem.
Several road routes are closed every year on the occasion of Republic Day in Delhi. Apart from the parade on the occasion of Republic Day this year, Bharat Parv is also going to be organized at the Red Fort. This Bharat Parv will run from 26 January to 31 January. Due to this many road routes have been changed. According to the advisory, the movement of any traffic on the duty path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate has been banned from 6 pm today till the end of the parade on 26 January.
There will be no cross-traffic on Rafi Marg, Man Singh Road, Janpath and Duty Path from 10 pm on Wednesday till the parade ends on Thursday. C-Hexagon India Gate will be closed for traffic from 9.15 am tomorrow till the parade crosses Tilak Marg. Along with this, traffic will remain closed on Tilak Marg, Subhash Marg and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from 10.30 am tomorrow. In view of the movement of the parade, cross facility permission will be given.
Which routes were diverted
According to the traffic advisory, traffic will be diverted from Hanuman Mandir, Delhi Gate, Chatta Rail Chowk, T-Point Subhash Marg, Shanti Van and GPO. Apart from this, the route of Nishad Raj Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Marg, Lothian Road can also be diverted.
Advisory for Delhi Metro
Advisory has also been issued by DMRC department for Metro. Under this, boarding/de-boarding at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat metro stations will be allowed only for invitees or ticket holders from 5 am to 2 pm on January 26. On the other hand, from the point of view of security, parking at metro stations will remain closed from 6 am on January 25 to 2 pm on January 26. Tomorrow you park your car only at the designated parking place.
