New Delhi. Madhya Pradesh’s left-arm fast bowler Kulwant Khejroliya has created history in Ranji Trophy. Kulwant achieved the feat of taking four wickets in 4 balls in the second innings of the match played against Baroda at Holkar Stadium, Indore. Due to his shining performance, Madhya Pradesh defeated Baroda by an innings and 52 runs.
Kulwant Khejroliya took 5 wickets for 34 runs in the second innings. He has become only the third bowler in the history of Ranji Trophy to take four wickets in 4 consecutive balls. Before him, SS Saini of Delhi and M Mudasir of Jammu and Kashmir had achieved this feat. For the first time, Kulwant has done the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings of a first class cricket match. Apart from this, he is the third bowler from Madhya Pradesh and 80th overall to take a hat-trick in Ranji Trophy.

Left-arm fast bowler Khejroliya clean bowled Shashwat Rawat (105) on the second ball of the 95th over of Baroda’s second innings. After this he dismissed Mahesh Pithiya (0), Bhargav Bhatt and Akash Singh (0) on the next 3 balls. He bowled 13.3 overs, taking a total of 5 wickets while giving 34 runs. Before this, he had not taken a single wicket in the previous 11 overs. This is the first time that he has taken a 5 wicket haul in first class cricket.
Kulwant has taken 15 wickets so far
Khejroliya has taken 15 wickets at an average of 21 in 9 innings of 5 matches in this season of Ranji Trophy. He took only 2 wickets in the match against Uttarakhand this season. After this, he could take only 1 wicket against Odisha. This 31 year old pacer had taken three wickets against Delhi.
Madhya Pradesh defeated Baroda by innings difference
Talking about the match, Madhya Pradesh had scored 454 runs in its first innings. In response to this, the entire Baroda team was reduced to 132 runs only. Due to lagging behind by a big margin in the first innings, Baroda had to play follow-on and in the second innings too, Baroda team could only add 270 runs. Khejroliya took 2 wickets in the first innings of the match. That means he took a total of 7 wickets in the match.
