Amritpal Singh: Controversy continues over Punjab’s Khalistani supporter and heir Punjab De chief Amritpal. The Punjab Police is continuously running a search operation for his arrest. Police is searching for Amritpal for the last 3 days. But fugitive Amritpal is still absconding. The police have expressed apprehension that Amritpal is hiding in Jalandhar. In such a situation, the entire district has been seized. All the entry and exit points of the district have been blocked. At the same time, internet ban continues till this afternoon in entire Punjab.

The controversy regarding Amritpal has crossed the borders of the country and reached abroad. Khalistani supporters are seen continuously protesting for the release of Amritpal. Khalistani supporters have written slogans for Amritpal’s release at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA. The supporters have also broken the gate of the Indian Consulate and hoisted the Khalistan flag there. The police system has also been alerted regarding this. The American police is trying to control the protesters.

During the meeting with the American Charge d’Affaires Elizabeth Jones, the Ministry of External Affairs reminded the US government to ensure India’s security. Also said that such incidents should be stopped. At the same time, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indian Embassy in Washington has conveyed its concerns to the US State Department on the same lines and has asked to ensure the security of diplomatic establishments. After this, the US State Department spokesperson said that the USA condemns the attack on the embassy of the Indian Department of Commerce. We want to assure India’s diplomats and their officials that we are committed to their safety.

At the same time, Khalistani supporters protested outside the Indian High Commission in London for the release of Amritpal. The supporters also raised the flag of India on the High Commission. They were continuously raising slogans for the release of Amritpal while raising their voice against the Government of India. However, later the Indian High Commission put a bigger flag there than before. Then the British police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. India’s Ministry of External Affairs has also sought an answer from the British government in the matter.

On the other hand, the police has intensified the action regarding the arrest of Amritpal. Police has so far invoked the National Security Act against 5 associates, including Amripal’s uncle, while arresting 114 accused in connection with the case. Police has submitted a list of 458 supporters of Amritpal to the National Investigation Agency. It is also expected that action will be taken on this soon. In the investigation, news of Amripal’s link with ISI has come to the fore. Amritpal was preparing a private army of her own, named Anandpur Khalsa Force. Amritpal had also bought 33 bulletproof jackets from Delhi for his force. AKF’s mark was made on all these jackets.
