In this episode, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed shared a similar anecdote of Virat Kohli, when he was stunned by the Indian batsman’s reply.
Incident happened during 2019 World Cup
It happened during the 2019 World Cup when there was a press conference of all the captains on the eve of the first match and Sarfaraz was sitting next to Virat Kohli. There was also a funny moment when Sarfaraz and Kohli were asked about the pressure of India vs Pakistan match. During this, Kohli gave a befitting reply in English, but Sarfaraz’s reply surprised everyone. After listening to Virat Kohli’s long answer, Sarfaraz said that my answer is also same nothing difference. Now, almost four years later, Sarfaraz recalled the press conference and revealed how he was taken aback by Kohli’s English.
Speaking on Nadir Ali’s podcast, Sarfaraz said about the incident that the reporter asked, “When we talk about India vs Pakistan match promotion and how do we react when people ask us for tickets, I Said that you can ask Virat first. I told him brother, why don’t you answer first and Virat started and finished and left. This PC was in England. I looked at him and thought when will brother stop. He kept on using long words in English and I was wondering for that moment how I was going to translate it all. I kept listening to all this and said that I also have the same answer. I thought it was a simple question, but Virat gave such a long answer. Please tell that during this interview, Sarfaraz spoke openly on many other things.
