Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off Odisha’s first Vande Bharat Express today. This train will run from the famous pilgrimage center Jagannath Puri to Howrah in West Bengal. Apart from this, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth about Rs 8,200 crore in Odisha. Along with this, he will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment project of Puri and Cuttack railway stations. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told these things while giving information. According to media reports, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has reached Puri and inspected the Puri railway station late night to take stock of the development works. The Railway Minister further said that PM Modi has allocated Rs 10,000 crore for development works in Odisha.

Apart from this, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment project of Puri and Cuttack railway stations. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the new railway stations to be built in Puri and Cuttack will have all modern facilities. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate 100% electrification of the rail network in Odisha. This will reduce the cost of operating and maintenance. Along with this, the dependence on crude oil will also be reduced. PM Modi will inaugurate the new broad gauge line between Angul-Sukinda and the new broad gauge line between Bichhupali-Jhartarbha. Apart from this, the third line between Manoharpur-Raukarela-Jharsuguda and the second railway line between Sambalpur-Titlagarh will also be inaugurated.

This is the second Vande Bharat Express to be received by West Bengal

Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off from Puri at 1 pm on Thursday. This is the second Vande Bharat train to be received by West Bengal after the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express. The train will cover the distance of 500 km between Howrah and Puri in approximately six and a half hours. Regular operation of Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will commence from Howrah and Puri on 20th May and will run 6 days a week except Thursday. It will depart from Howrah at 6:10 am and reach Puri at 12:35 pm.
