Odisha Train Accident: PM Narendra Modi has held a meeting to review the situation regarding the major train accident in Balasore district of Odisha. In this, information has also been taken about the relief and rescue work done so far. All senior officers of Railways were also present in this meeting. The death toll in the accident has reached 238 so far and the number of injured is more than 900. NDRF, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and State Disaster Relief Force are also engaged in rapid relief and rescue work at the accident site for relief and rescue operation.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and state Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik have also visited the spot today. Along with this, Naveen Patnaik also inquired about the condition of the injured people in the hospital. The Railway Minister said at the spot that better medical care would be provided to the injured and an inquiry has also been ordered by a high-level committee into the accident. Rescue operation will be completed by today evening

While addressing the media, NDRF DG Atul Karwal said that 9 teams of NDRF are also stationed at the accident site. Also, said that our rescue team had reached the spot shortly after the incident. At present, more than 300 people are engaged in rescuing people. Atul Karwal also informed that the rescue operation is likely to be completed by this evening.
