NZ Tour of PAK: New Zealand announced the team for Pakistan tour, Williamson-Ravindra will not go, 33 year old player becomes captain for the first time

New Delhi. New Zealand has announced its team for the T20 series to be played on Pakistan tour. 33 year old all-rounder Michael Bracewell has been made the captain of the team. He has got captaincy for the first time.

Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson will not go to Pakistan tour due to participation in IPL 2024. A five-match T20 will be played between the two countries from April 18. The first match will be played in Rawalpindi.

Michael Bracewell was away from the field for a year due to injury. His finger was broken. Now he will take command of the team on Pakistan tour in the absence of regular captain Kane Williamson. Williamson is playing for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024.

On getting the captaincy, Bracewell said that I will never forget this day. I’m very excited, it’s a huge honor to be selected again for New Zealand and then to be chosen as captain. I wasn’t expecting this.

Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner and Williamson, who are participating in the IPL, will not go on the Pakistan tour. New Zealand’s Test captain Tim Southee is being rested due to his participation in all formats, while Will Young, Tom Latham and Colin Munro are also unavailable.
