Traffic cameras on the roads.

Traffic cameras on the roads.

News2News.in Explainer: Now if someone does not follow the traffic rules while walking on the roads, the traffic cameras on the roads detect it immediately and the challan reaches you before reaching home. Let us know in today’s News2News.in Explainer how these cameras work.

How do traffic cameras work

Hi-tech cameras have now been installed on the roads, which work 24×7 hours. At the same time, such hi-tech cameras are also installed on the highways, which keep on imprisoning those who violate the traffic rules. Through these, the recording of the vehicles running on the road is done, whose entire data goes to the control center. A team sits at the control center, which notices the violating vehicles and challans them.

This camera also captures a short video along with the photo as proof. If someone breaks the rule, the photo of his vehicle gets clicked and the number plate of that vehicle reaches the control center. In the video, the date, time and camera number are attached to the photo itself so that even the authorities cannot tamper with it. The picture captured by the camera is first sent from the local server to the central server (Police Control Room), then the data reaches VAHAN (National Vehicle Registry Database of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways). From where a message is sent to the phone number which is associated with the vehicle. These cameras are of 2 megapixels and high resolution, which can easily cover the area by rotating up to 60 degrees. That’s why it is difficult to avoid their eyes for violating traffic rules. With the help of these cameras, it is easy to detect the speed of the vehicle.

What is e-invoice

To control the traffic, the Government of India released the New Motor Vehicle Act i.e. e-Challan on 1st September 2019. Under this act, if a person does not follow the traffic rules, he will have to pay an e-challan. The government has installed cameras on the roads to catch people who break traffic rules. After this, if a person violates the traffic rules, then automatically e-challan will be generated by capturing that person and his vehicle in the camera.

No mistake in e-challan

The e-Chalan goes through a two-step process before it reaches you. Firstly, it is automatically confirmed whether you have violated the traffic rule or not. After that it is also checked manually, so that there is no possibility of mistake.

Can challenge in court

If you feel that you have not violated the traffic rule and still your e-challan has come, then you can contact the nearest traffic center. There your complaint will be resolved. Along with this you can challenge the e-challan in the court.
