Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who brought gold medal to India in Tokyo Olympics 2020, did wonders again in Doha. Neeraj Chopra also won the Doha Diamond League title on Friday i.e. 5th May. Neeraj’s first throw of 88.67m secured the first position in tough conditions as the Olympian from India cruised to victory. World champion Anderson Peters finished second with a throw of 85.88m. At the same time, Jakub Valdejch of Czech Republic finished third with 85.51m.

Anderson Peters started the competition with a throw of 85.88, followed by Niraj’s world lead throw. In his second attempt, Czech Valdezch got the closest to the Indian javelin thrower. Chopra will now take on Hayward Field in Eugene for the final on September 16 before traveling to Lausanne, Monaco, and Zurich for his second appearance in the league.
