News2News.in News. Fatehabad:The national championship of bandy game, played on the lines of ice hockey, will be played in the snowy region of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir from January 19. In Gulmarg, which is called the heaven of the earth, the Haryana team will sweat for the victory by spreading the fire of their talent. Under the banner of Haryana Bandy Association, an 8-member team led by coach Pradeep Zaildar and captain Romi Mile left for Jammu and Kashmir from Fatehabad today. Social worker Hardeep Singh sent the team off by presenting them with bandy sticks.

State General Secretary of Haryana Bandy Association Pramod Kaushik said that bandy is a game similar to hockey, which is played in skating style on the ice field. The Haryana team is going to participate in the National Championship to be held in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. He told that there is a strong possibility of medal in this team because many of its players have played internationally in countries like Singapore, Dubai, Malaysia etc. The Haryana team will definitely get the benefit of his experiences. Only the medal winning teams in this National Championship will make it to the next Khelo India Games. Advocates Prashant Sharma, Hawa Singh Chindad, Vikas Gavdi, Mukesh Bhadrecha, Simranjeet Gill, Amarjeet Malwan, Anil Chaudhary, Ravindra Saini, Narendra Tiwana, Surendra Jatiya, Bajrang Fauji, Satpal Bansal, Vikas Kumar etc were present on the occasion.

Preparation for National Championship in Gurugram

Romi Mile, who led the Haryana team in the Bandy National Championship, said that due to unavailability of ground nearby, the team had to practice at Ambience Mall in Gurugram for Rs 1000 per hour. Apart from this, some players have also come to prepare for this championship by training in areas like Hyderabad. He said that the game is definitely new in Haryana, but he has very old experience of this game. He is confident that he will return with a win. Apart from the captain, Ankit Kumar, Tushar, Keshav, Kapis, Deepanshu Vinay, Yashveer and Jarnail have been included in the Haryana team.
