Mohsin Naqvi: Chief Minister of Punjab becomes the new chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, know how many years his tenure will be.

New Delhi. Mohsin Naqvi was elected unopposed as the new chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Board of Governors at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Tuesday. Election Commissioner and interim PCB chairman Shah Khawar chaired the meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) to elect the PCB chairman.

Shah Khawar announced the victory of Mohsin Naqvi in the elections while interacting with the media at the National Cricket Academy. Khawar said, "Mohsin Naqvi was elected unopposed as the Chairman of PCB, he will serve as the Chairman for 3 years." Let us tell you that Mohsin Naqvi is the acting Chief Minister of Punjab province and while holding this post, he will hold the responsibility of PCB Chairman.

Khawar further said,"There is no legal impediment to assuming the responsibility as acting Chief Minister of Punjab and Chairman of PCB. I was given the responsibility of conducting the elections by the Patron-in-Chief and the elections were conducted as per the PCB constitution and law."

It is noteworthy that Election Commissioner Shah Khawar had called a meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) last week for the election of the PCB Chairman. The notice of the meeting was issued as per the provisions of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Constitution 2014.

Shah Khawar took over as chairman of the PCB Management Committee earlier this month after Zaka Ashraf stepped down from his post.
