New Delhi. Team India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami received the Arjun Award on Tuesday. His Excellency Draupadi Murmu honored him with this award in a program held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Shami is the only cricketer to receive the Arjun Award this year. Everyone has been congratulating Shami since he received the Arjun Award. Meanwhile, former Team India captain Virat Kohli also congratulated his teammate in a special way.

Mohammed Shami had shared some pictures of receiving the Arjun Award on his Instagram account. Virat Kohli wrote on these pictures, Congratulations Lala. Not only Virat, many other players of Team India also congratulated Shami on receiving the Arjun Award. Suryakumar Yadav wrote, Shami Bhai, congratulations on getting such a big honour. Proud of you. Apart from this, Yuzvendra Chahal also congratulated the Indian pacer.

Shami is currently out of Team India. His ankle was injured. For this reason, he would hardly play even in the first two Tests against England. Shami had bowled amazingly in the ODI World Cup held at home last year. After Hardik Pandya’s injury, Shami got a chance to play in the World Cup and he lined up the wickets. Shami had achieved the feat of taking five wickets not once but thrice in the entire World Cup. He took a total of 24 wickets in 7 matches in the tournament. He was the bowler who took the most wickets.
