Meghalaya: The National People’s Party has emerged as the single largest party in the Meghalaya Assembly elections, winning the maximum number of seats. NPP has won 26 seats. Meanwhile, Meghalaya CM Konrad Sangma has staked claim to form government in alliance with BJP. Regarding this, CM Konrad Sangma said that BJP has given us its support. We are going to meet the governor. He said that we will request the Governor to invite the National People’s Party to form the government.

Significantly, the assembly elections were held on 59 seats in Meghalaya, in which the National People’s Party has won 26 seats. Along with this, United Democratic Party won 11 seats, BJP 2, Congress 5 and TMC won 5 seats. After this, the majority mark required to form the government in the state is 30.

Currently NPP has 26 seats and BJP has 2 seats. NPP has total 28 seats after BJP support. Accordingly, they need the support of two more seats to form the government. On this, Konrad Sangma said that BJP and other parties have given their support. Along with this, he said that we will soon tell everyone who has given us their support.
