The heat has started showing its attitude in many states across the country. The heat is also increasing rapidly in the country’s capital Delhi and NCR areas. Due to rise in temperature, hot winds and heat waves are going to prevail in Delhi for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding this. However, the month of April this year saw rain activities due to Western Disturbance, due to which the weather remained pleasant.

Heat wave alert issued in these states

In view of the increasing heat, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning to the people. The department said that the temperature of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and North West India is going to increase in the coming days. However, due to Western Disturbance, there will be a drop in the temperature in the coming days. Apart from this, orange alert has been issued regarding heat wave in many other states including West Bengal.

The Meteorological Department said that today i.e. on April 16, the maximum temperature of Delhi was 41 degrees. At the same time, tomorrow also the temperature of Delhi is likely to reach 41 degrees. However, after this, some relief from the heat is expected. The department said that from April 18, rain activities can be seen in many states of the country including Delhi. Light rain is likely over Delhi after noon on April 18, while it will be partly cloudy during the day. In this sequence, the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 40 and minimum 22 degrees.

Explain that when the maximum temperature of the plains will be above 40 degrees and 4.5 degrees above normal. On the other hand, if the maximum temperature is more than 40 degrees and 6.4 degrees above normal, then it is considered as severe heat. In such a situation, there can be a possibility of heat wave only after the temperature is more than 40 degrees.

Instructions issued for schools in Delhi

The Directorate of Education has recently issued a circular for schools regarding the rising heat in Delhi. Under this, instructions have been given to ban the assembly in the afternoon shift. Apart from this, the Directorate of Education said that there should be adequate arrangement of water in the school. Children should be given breaks to drink water. Students should be made aware to avoid sun while coming and going to school. If any child complains of heat related illness, he should be immediately admitted to the nearest hospital.
