Karnataka Election 2023: The campaigning for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections came to an end on Monday i.e. 8th May. The Karnataka elections ahead of the Lok Sabha elections are no less than a test for the Congress and the BJP. Now everyone is waiting for voting tomorrow i.e. Wednesday 10th May. Karnataka Congress and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) worked hard to give a tough fight to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). At the same time, the assembly elections to be held this year are also being considered as the semi-finals of the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.

Total Voters and Seats in Karnataka Assembly Elections

Karnataka has a total of 224 assembly seats. Of these 224 assembly seats, 36 are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 15 for Scheduled Tribes. For this, voting will be held tomorrow i.e. on 10th May and the results will be revealed on 13th May. There are a total of 5.21 crore voters here. Out of which 2.59 crore are female and 2.62 crore are male voters. At the same time, 16,976 voters are above 100 years of age. Along with this, there are 4,699 transgenders and 9.17 lakh will vote for the first time. The Election Commission will set up special booths for vulnerable tribal groups and transgenders.

Total Booths in Karnataka

A total of 58,282 polling stations have been set up for voting in Karnataka. Of these, 28,866 fall in urban areas. The Election Commission has made special arrangements by identifying sensitive booths. Along with this, for the first time, the Election Commission has also provided the facility of voting from home for people above 80 years and disabled people.

Shiggaon

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is contesting from the Shiggaon constituency.

Kanakapura

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar is contesting from this seat.

Channapatna

HD Kumaraswamy, the two-time chief minister of Karnataka, will contest here. JDS has been calling itself the kingmaker in Karnataka.

Shikaripura

The Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated BY Vijayendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, as its candidate for this seat.
