IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants got a shock, 6 crore bowler got injured again, OUT from IPL 2024

New Delhi, Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Shivam Mavi is out of IPL 2024. The injury to his ribs has not healed yet. Shivam suffered a rib stress fracture in August last year. Due to this injury, he could not play domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh since August 2023. However, Shivam had come to participate in the pre-season training camp of Lucknow Super Giants. But then it became clear that he would not play in IPL 2024.

In the Instagram video shared by Lucknow Super Giants, without specifying where the injury occurred, Mavi said that his IPL 2024 journey has come to a halt. He said that I will miss the tournament a lot. I came here after the injury and thought that I will play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately due to injury I have to leave the tournament.

Mavi was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 6.4 crore in this year’s IPL auction and he had not played competitive cricket since August. Lucknow has played three matches so far and has won two of them and is at the fourth position in the points table. Shivam Mavi did not play in all these three matches. Mavi said, "We have a very good team, I will cheer for the team from outside and hopefully we will win.

Lucknow Super Giants have not yet selected anyone in place of Shivam. They have fast bowling options in the form of Matt Henry, Shamar Joseph, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, Yash Thakur, Arshad Khan and Yudhveer Singh.
