IPL 2024: Good news for Mumbai Indians, number 1 player of T20 is fit, will join the squad

New Delhi. There is good news for Mumbai Indians. T20’s number-1 batsman Suryakumar Yadav has become fit and has got clearance from the National Cricket Academy to play in the IPL. He will join the Mumbai Indians squad by Friday and can also take part in the team’s net session on April 5. The rest of the team is enjoying the break in Jamnagar. All the players will gather in Mumbai on Thursday.

A source associated with Mumbai Indians said, "Suryakumar Yadav has received the necessary approval from the NCA and will join the team on Friday. He will be taking part in the net session on April 5, so let’s see how it goes. He may be available for the Delhi Capitals match on Sunday.

Suryakumar Yadav was injured in a T20 series match on the South Africa tour last December. His ankle was injured. During this time, he also had surgery for sports hernia. For this reason he has been away from the cricket field for a long time. Since the surgery, he was completing his rehab under the supervision of the BCCI medical team and now he has got permission to play in IPL 2024.

Suryakumar had undergone a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy a few weeks ago. But, he was not found fit. Both BCCI and NCA did not want there to be any haste in his return. Therefore his fitness was evaluated during the practice match. With the return of Surya, the batting of Mumbai Indians will be very strong. Surya’s bat had spoken strongly in the last season. He scored 605 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 181. He scored 1 century and 5 half-centuries. He was the top scorer of Mumbai.
