IPL 2024: CSK’s Mustafizur suddenly returned to his country, will he be able to play the next match?

New Delhi, Chennai Super Kings have suffered a setback before the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad to be held after 2 days. Team’s pacer Mustafizur Rahman has returned to Bangladesh. Rahman had to complete the US visa process for the T20 World Cup, that is why he has left IPL 2024 and returned to Bangladesh. In such a situation, he will not be able to play in the match against Hyderabad on 5th April.

BCB chairman of cricket operations Jalal Younis was quoted by Cricbuzz on Wednesday as saying,"Mustafizur arrived last night from IPL for US visa purpose for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He will give his fingerprints at the US Embassy tomorrow (April 4) and will later return to India to take part in IPL 2024.

Rahman ahead in race for purple cap
Mustafizur Rahman is a very important bowler for Chennai Super Kings. He is at the forefront of the Purple Cap race. He has taken a total of 7 wickets in the three matches played so far. He took 4 wickets for 29 runs in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Apart from this, he took 2 wickets for 30 runs against Gujarat Titans. At the same time, he also took 1 wicket for 47 runs against Delhi Capitals.

May also miss the match against KKR
Rahman is likely to return on Sunday or Monday. If he returns on Monday, he will probably miss CSK’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders on the same day. Rahman, 28, will be available till the end of April before joining the national team for Bangladesh’s five-match T20 series against Zimbabwe starting on May 3.

In Rahman’s absence, Chennai Super Kings may have to make changes to their playing eleven and include Shardul Thakur or Rajvardhan Hangekar as fast bowlers. CSK can enter the match with an additional spinner in the form of Mahesh Tikshana.
