There are frequent reports of misbehavior by intoxicated passengers on flights. A similar new case has come to the fore. A 40-year-old passenger on board Delhi-Bengaluru Indigo flight 6E 308, in an inebriated condition, tried to open the flap of the emergency gate on Friday morning while in-flight. Seeing this, there was a stir inside the plane. The crew member tried to remove him, but he did not agree. After this the crew member informed the captain of the flight. Captain also tried to convince him several times and also warned him, but he did not listen and started creating ruckus. After this, when the flight was landed at Bengaluru airport, the person was handed over to CISF.

Case registered in these sections

According to media reports, the drunken passenger is a resident of Kanpur, his name is Prateek. A case has been registered against this person in three sections. A case has been registered against the accused person under section 336, section 290 and section 11A of the Indian Penal Code in pursuance of directions of 1934.

Increase in abuse cases

Indian airlines have recently been facing the challenge of dealing with unruly passenger behaviour. In the last three months, such incidents have increased. From urinating to smoking in toilets, incidents of unruly behavior of passengers have increased. Recently, Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh had said that till March 15 this year, a total of 10 passengers have been put on the no-fly list. Giving the record of the last 2 years, Singh said that, as per the civil aviation requirement on unruly passengers, a total of 66 and 63 passengers were placed on the no fly list in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
