Joe Root: A bad news has emerged for England on the third day of the second Test (IND vs ENG 2nd Test) being played against India in Visakhapatnam. Team star and experienced all-rounder Joe Root has gone out of the field due to injury. Root is currently under the observation of the medical team. Actually, during India’s second innings, Root got injured while trying to take a catch at slip. The little finger of his right hand is injured. At present he is away from the field. Right now there are no chances of his return to the field.

ECB gave update

England Cricket Board (ECB) said regarding Root’s injury, "Joe Root got injured on the little finger of his right hand while trying to take a catch in the slips in the first session of the third day. The England medical team is treating him, due to which he is currently away from the field. There is no clear indication yet as to when he will return to the field."

The English team will be missing a bowler due to Joe Root being out of the field. Before leaving the field, Root bowled only 2 overs and conceded 1 run. Earlier, in England’s first innings he had scored 5 runs in 10 balls. In the first test of the series, visiting England defeated India by 28 runs. Root had an excellent all-round performance in this match. He scored 29 runs in the first innings and 2 runs in the second innings. Also took 5 wickets.
