IND vs ENG, 3rd Test Preview: India or England? Who will rule in Rajkot? Competition between Indian young batsmen and spin bowlers

New Delhi. The third Test between India and England will be played in Rajkot from Thursday. At present, the series is tied at 1-1. In this match, Team India faces a bigger challenge than England. Because India’s middle order has weakened due to the absence of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Barring Rohit Sharma, the entire batting order is inexperienced. In a way, in this test the young Indian batsmen will compete against the young spin bowlers of England. Whoever wins this bet, the match will also be in his hands.

This will be Ben Stokes’ 100th Test, in which two players R Ashwin and James Anderson will be eyeing to achieve a special milestone. Ashwin is one step away from 500 Test wickets while Anderson is also on the threshold of 700 wickets.

Two players can debut for India
KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are not playing in this test. In such a situation, Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan, who could not debut in the last Test, is almost certain to get a chance in the Rajkot Test. As a middle order batsman, Sarfaraz can be very important in Indian conditions. This is being said because Sarfaraz’s average and strike rate in first class cricket is above 70. It is clear from this that he plays freely against spin bowlers.

Yashasvi Jaiswal will be most important for India in the top order. In the first innings of the last Test, when no batsman had scored more than 34 runs, Yashasvi scored a double century while playing counter attacking cricket. In this series, Tom Hartley had hit a six on the very first ball. But, after this he has taken the most wickets for England in the first 2 Tests.

Jadeja may return
With Kohli unavailable, Shreyas Iyer out and KL Rahul injured, India’s middle-order is a bit weak in terms of experience. Jadeja’s return will definitely help Team India a bit. Jadeja’s record in his home ground Rajkot is good and it seems almost certain that he will play. Due to the recent form of KS Bharat, Dhruv Jurel may get a chance to debut.

How will be the nature of the pitch in Rajkot?
Rajkot wicket has always been good for batting. Jadeja has also indicated the same before the match. He said that initially it will be easy to bat on this wicket and after that the spin bowlers will come into play. At present, the temperature in Rajkot is 20 degrees in the morning and it rises up to 30 degrees. In such a situation, it is expected that the ball will swing a little in the morning and due to the low temperature the pitch will not break so quickly.

India’s probable playing-11: Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel/KS Bharat, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

England’s playing-11: Jack Crowley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes (wk), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood and James Anderson.
