‘I can score runs by hitting sixes any time…just what I learned from Mahi Bhai…’ Shivam Dubey stakes claim for T20 World Cup

New Delhi. On the basis of Shivam Dubey’s all-round game, India easily defeated Afghanistan in the first match of the three T20 series played in Mohali. Batting at number 4, Shivam scored unbeaten 60 runs in 40 balls while chasing the target of 159 runs.

After the match, Shivam gave credit for his good performance to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Shivam said that when I came to bat, I was trying to implement the same things which I had learned from Mahi Bhai (Mahendra Singh Dhoni). Let us tell you that Shivam plays for Dhoni’s team Chennai Super Kings in IPL.

After the match, Shivam Dubey said about his batting, "Was playing international cricket after a long time. Batting at number four was a bit stressful for me. But I had one thing in my mind that I have to play my own style of cricket. I feel a little pressure for the first two-three balls. But, after that I just look at the ball and play my shots. I know I can hit long sixes in T20. I can score runs anytime."

Using the tips I got from Mahi Bhai: Shivam
Shivam said a big thing about Dhoni on Geo Cinema. They said, "I constantly talk to Mahi Bhai during IPL. He tells me how to face different situations. He has given me two-three tips and he likes my batting. So I think if they like my batting then I will try to play well. This increases my confidence and perhaps because of this I am able to do well."

Shivam Dubey last played for India in the Guangzhou Asian Games. This Mumbai player was also a part of the Indian team in the home T20 series against Australia. But did not get a chance to play. Shivam was not selected in the T20 series team against South Africa.
