New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami is trying to recover from his ankle injury. So that we can prepare ourselves for the Test series against England. Let us tell you that the 5 Test series between India and England will start from January 25 in Hyderabad. Shami is out of Team India since World Cup 2023 due to ankle injury. He did not even go on the South Africa tour. Meanwhile, news also came that Shami will not be able to play in the first 2 tests against England.

Shami received the Arjuna Award on Tuesday itself. During a reception hosted by the Sports Ministry for this year’s National Sports Award winners, Shami stressed on the importance of maintaining fitness for consistent performances.

Shami, while answering the question regarding his availability in the Test series against England, said that I am trying to be available for selection in the Test series against England. But, the test match lasts for five days. In such a situation, it is important for you to be completely fit. I don’t want to join the team with any doubts. So currently working on my fitness.

‘My goal is to keep myself fit’
Shami, who took 24 wickets in 7 matches of the World Cup, said, "My aim is to keep myself as fit as possible because the next two tournaments and series are big. I will focus on fitness. Speaking about his bowling skills, Shami said, "There is no tension about my skills, because I believe that if I maintain my fitness, the skills will automatically show."

Shami is currently completing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. On receiving the Arjun Award, he said that today my dream has been fulfilled, it is the result of my hard work.
