Haryana Budget 2023 LIVE Updates:Chief Minister Manohar Lal presented a budget of Rs 1 lakh 83 thousand 950 crore for the financial year 2023-24. While presenting the budget, he said that he is fortunate that he has got the opportunity to present the first budget of Haryana during Amrit Kaal. This budget will build a strong foundation to fulfill the grand vision of a developed India. This budget is different from the budget of other financial years. After 25 years, when we will celebrate the centenary year of independence, then how Haryana will be in terms of happiness and prosperity has been envisaged in this budget. This budget also reflects our commitment to the development of the state as per the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Vision-2030. Haryana contributes about 3.86 per cent to India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is more than proportionate to its size or population.

He said that no tax has been imposed in the budget of the year 2023-24. The Chief Minister proposed revenue receipts of Rs 1,09,122 crore for the budget estimate year 2023-24, which includes tax revenue of Rs 75,716 crore, non-tax revenue of Rs 12,651 crore. GST, VAT, excise and stamp duty are the major sources of tax revenue receipts.

Highlights of Manohar Sarkar’s budget

  • CM Manohar Lal has increased the pension by Rs 250 in the budget. Now from April 1, 2023, all the beneficiaries will get a pension of Rs 2750. At present, the benefit of social security pension including old age respect allowance, widow pension and disabled pension is being given to more than 29.71 lakh beneficiaries at the rate of 2500 per month. Announced increase in old age pension eligibility income from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
  • Under the Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana, a target has been set to cover at least more than 2 lakh families in the year 2023-24 and it is proposed to provide them an amount of up to Rs 1 lakh from banks. For this, Rs 2,000 crore will be set aside in consultation with banks.
  • Proposing to allocate Rs 7,202 crore for the rural sector in the budget for the financial year 2023-24, announced the opening of e-libraries in 1,000 gram panchayats this year.
  • Gram Panchayat land will be made available with the consent of the Gram Panchayats for new Gaushalas registered with the Haryana Cow Service Commission. Gaushalas will be linked to the Gobardhan Yojana, under which biogas plants are proposed to be set up in every district.
