Haris Rauf: What will happen to Haris Rauf’s cricket career? PCB gave huge punishment for disobedience

Haris Rauf Central Contract Terminated: Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been punished for refusing to join Pakistan’s Test team for the Australia tour. Pakistan Cricket Board has canceled Rauf’s central contract. PCB had investigated this matter and has now punished this fast bowler.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, after the hearing conducted by the investigation committee in this matter and taking into account the views of all the stakeholders involved in the matter, has terminated the central contract of Haris Rauf with effect from December 1, 2023 and barred him from playing in any foreign league. No NOC (No Objection Certificate) will be given for. He will not be given NOC to play in any foreign league till June 30, 2024.

Rauf will not be able to play franchise cricket till June 30

The PCB management had given Haris a personal hearing on January 30, 2024 based on the principles of natural justice and his reply was found unsatisfactory. PCB says that playing for Pakistan is the highest honor for any player. Refusing to be a part of Pakistan’s Test team without any medical report or valid reason is a violation of the rules of the Central Contract.

Let us tell you that in November last year, the PCB was embarrassed when Haris Rauf made himself unavailable for selection for the Australia tour at the last moment, despite assurance from the team management about his workload management. As a result, Pakistan had to field an inexperienced pace attack for their three-Test tour of Australia in 2023-24. Naseem Shah was also unavailable due to injury. Pakistan had lost all three matches of this test series.
