Gyanvapi Case:The Gyanvapi Masjid Controversy has again come into limelight. The Allahabad High Court, while hearing a petition, has ordered a carbon dating survey of the Shivling of the Gyanvapi campus. The court has said that there should be a scientific survey of the Shivling and the structure should not be harmed in any way. There is a wave of happiness in the Hindu side after this decision of the High Court.

According to media reports, the Gyanvapi Masjid dispute has been going on for a long time. The Hindu side says that Shivling has been found inside the mosque premises, its carbon dating survey should be done. A petition related to this was filed in the Allahabad High Court. The Allahabad High Court today ordered on this petition on the report presented by the Archaeological Survey of India. The High Court said that carbon dating survey of Shivling should be done. Also, keep in mind that there should not be any damage to the structure.

Varanasi court dismissed the petition

Let us inform that earlier the Varanasi District Court had rejected the petition demanding carbon dating of the alleged Shivling. The subordinate court in Varanasi had refused to conduct the inquiry because of the Supreme Court’s order to maintain the status quo. The petitioner challenged the Varanasi court’s decision in the Allahabad High Court. After this, today the High Court, while hearing the matter, has ordered carbon dating.

HC asked- Is carbon dating possible without causing harm

Additional Advocate General MC Chaturvedi and Chief Permanent Advocate Bipin Bihari Pandey appeared on behalf of the state government on the petition seeking carbon dating. On behalf of Vishnu Shankar Jain, advocate Harishankar Jain and Gyanvapi Masjid, SFA Naqvi presented the petition on this petition. The High Court asked the counsel for the Central Government whether the alleged Shivling could be examined by carbon dating without damaging the Shivling. To this the ASI replied that it is possible. After this, the court has given permission to do carbon dating of Shivling.
