Who will be eligible for Diwali Bonus?
Diwali Bonus 2023: The Finance Ministry has announced to give adhoc bonus to central government employees on the occasion of Diwali. Under this announcement, all eligible employees will be given an amount equal to 30 days’ salary as Diwali bonus. Employees falling under Group B and Group C of the Central Government, who are not covered under any Productivity Linked Bonus Scheme. Bonus has also been announced for them. Apart from this, eligible employees of Paramilitary Forces will also get the benefit of Adhoc Bonus.
Diwali Bonus 2023: Bonus for temporary employees
According to the order of the Finance Ministry, rules have been made for the amount to be given under Adhoc Bonus. The bonus is added as per the upper limit of average salary calculation of the personnel, whichever is lower. For example, if an employee’s monthly salary is Rs 7000, then he will be given approximately Rs 6907 as bonus in 30 days. This bonus will be given to those employees who have been in service as on March 31, 2023.
Diwali Bonus 2023: Employees eligible for bonus
The Lending Department will not give this bonus to those employees who are working in the Union Territory or any PSU, on deputation and foreign service from March 31, 2023. According to the rule, if the parent department of that employee has received bonus and ex-gratia amount from the foreign department in the financial year, then that amount will be given to the concerned employee.
Diwali Bonus 2023: Part Time Employees
If an employee has been suspended in the financial year, then separate rules have been made for that employee. When such personnel rejoin service and get all the earlier benefits, they will be considered eligible for adhoc bonus. Personnel transferred to different ministries and departments will be eligible for adhoc bonus if there is no break in their work. In such a case, the service period of both the departments will be added.
