Delhi Air Pollution: The air in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas has become worse than a day before. Apart from Gurugram, the air quality in all the major cities of NCR including Delhi is in very poor category. The Supreme Court has become strict regarding the increasing air pollution in many states of the country. After hearing this matter, they are continuously reprimanding the states. Now on Tuesday the Supreme Court has once again reprimanded Punjab. Said that farmers are being made villains.

Supreme Court asked- whether fine was collected from farmers

The Supreme Court asked the lawyer appearing for the Punjab government that you had said to impose a fine of Rs 2 crore. Only fine is imposed or recovered. Tell about recovery in the next hearing. We would also like to know about the FIR filed by you. Is it up to the farm owner or the strangers? The court has said in the order that there has been no reduction in the incidents of stubble burning in the fields.

Farmers should be given necessary machines

The Supreme Court said that in Bihar if people harvest crops by hand then there is no problem of stubble. In Punjab too, many small farmers are selling stubble instead of burning it. There is a need to encourage big farmers. They will also benefit. The state government should provide necessary machines. The bench said that the UP and Haryana governments are giving these machines on lease to the farmers. Punjab should also do the same.

Farmers are burning stubble without caring for people – SC

During the hearing, the court said that if some farmers are burning stubble without caring for the people, then why is the government not taking strict action. You should not buy grains from farmers who burn stubble. Why should those who break the law get benefits? Also, the court said that we will keep an eye on this entire matter.
