This decision of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is being considered very important after the performance of the wrestlers. Earlier, an adhoc committee was formed by the Sports Ministry by canceling the elections of the Wrestling Federation of India. Which was keeping an eye on the WFI’s program every day. Now this committee will also conduct the elections of WFI in the coming time.

The IOA, in its order, said that in view of the Sports Ministry’s letter dated April 24, 2023 Wrestling Federation of India Inform the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) about the administrative vacancy in the (WFI) and request the IOA to form a temporary committee or adhoc committee to conduct the elections to the Executive Council. Management affairs of WFI and WFI, the IOA Executive Council in its emergency meeting held on April 27, 2023 has unanimously resolved that an Adhoc Committee should be constituted to take charge of the affairs of WFI.

This committee was formed on 3 May. In which included Bhupendra Singh Bajwa of Wushu Federation, Olympian shooter Suma Shirur and a retired judge. The IOA has asked the wrestling association to run and conduct elections within 45 days.

In fact, wrestlers have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India, of sexual harassment. Due to this, many veteran wrestlers are sitting on dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. An FIR was lodged against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh after the wrestlers staged a sit-in. The wrestlers want the arrest of President Brij Bhushan in this matter. At the same time, in this case, President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has declared himself innocent by releasing several videos of himself.
