Deepak Rao Arrested: The Intelligence Department of Telangana Police has arrested the most wanted Maoist Deepak Rao. This is a big success for Telangana Police. How much wanted Deepak Rao was can be gauged from the fact that there was a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head. Today i.e. on Friday, the police has caught Deepak Rao from near Malaysian Township in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. Deepak is the secretary of the Western Ghats Special Regional Committee of the South Regional Bureau of CPI. Police have recovered a revolver with six live cartridges, a laptop and Rs 47,250 in cash from him.
Rao met his two friends
Giving this information, Telangana Director General of Police Anjani Kumar said that Rao visited Hyderabad twice. He was coming to visit Hyderabad again, but after information collected by the Intelligence Bureau, he has been arrested. The Director General said Rao has also met Mahendra Tech University professor, film editor B Ajith Kumar, a resident of Madhapur, and Ranjit Shankaran, a resident of Malaysian Township, who were his friends during college.
Was involved in many illegal activities
Both those whom Rao met have also been called for questioning. Police said Rao had come to Hyderabad about four days ago and was going to Maad in Chhattisgarh to attend a meeting. SIB had given intelligence about Rao, acting on it, Cyberabad police arrested Rao from Kukatpally. Rao was involved in various illegal activities.
