New Delhi. David Warner achieved a special milestone as soon as he entered the first T20 against West Indies on Friday. This is his 100th T20. With this, Warner became the first Australian and third player in the world to play at least 100 matches in all three formats. Warner has entered Virat Kohli’s club. Apart from Warner, former Indian captain Virat Kohli and New Zealand’s Ross Taylor have also done this.

Before Warner, Aaron Finch (103) and Glenn Maxwell (100) have played more than 100 T20s for Australia. Virat has played 113 Tests, 292 ODIs and 117 T20s so far. Whereas Ross Taylor has 112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20s to his name. Meanwhile, David Warner has played 112 Tests and 161 ODIs so far and this is his 100th T20 against West Indies.

Warner completes 100 matches in all three formats
Along with making a record of playing at least 100 matches in all three formats, Warner batted stormily in the first T20 against West Indies. He completed his half-century in just 22 balls. When Warner was on the score of 49 runs, Nicholas Pooran dropped his catch. Just two balls later, he completed 50 runs by playing Romario Shepherd’s ball towards deep point. During this, Warner hit 9 fours and one six.

Warner also created a special record with this half-century. He has become the first batsman in the world to score 50 plus in his 100th Test, ODI and now T20. He was out after playing an innings of 70 runs in 36 balls. During this, he hit 12 fours and one six.

Warner scored a half-century in 22 balls
The opening pair of Warner and Josh English scored 77 runs in the powerplay itself. Till the time of writing the news, Australia had scored 93 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 8 overs. Josh Inglis was out after scoring 39 runs in 25 balls. He hit 5 fours and one six. Jason Holder got his wicket.

Warner had recently retired from Test cricket. But, he is playing the franchise T20 league and this year he may also feature in the T20 World Cup for Australia.
