New Delhi. You must have heard the story of pairs of brothers in cricket. From Mark and Steve Waugh to Irfan-Yusuf Pathan, the duo has raised the flag of their country. Now another such pair of brothers is emerging rapidly in Indian cricket and both the brothers are now knocking on the doors of Team India. Its hallmark was visible just a day before, when both the brothers, playing for different Indian teams, scored centuries against England and Ireland. Sarfaraz and Musheer Khan are talking here.
Elder brother Sarfaraz Khan scored 161 runs in the second unofficial test against England Lions who were visiting India, which is 9 runs more than England Lions’ score of 152 runs in the first innings. On the other hand, younger brother Musheer Khan is creating havoc in the Under-19 World Cup. Musheer had played an innings of 118 runs against Ireland a day earlier.
Sarfaraz’s younger brother Musheer scored a century in the World Cup
Let us tell you that India was facing Ireland in the Under-19 World Cup on Thursday. In this match, India defeated Ireland by a huge margin of 201 runs. Musheer Khan played an important role in India’s victory. Musheer, playing for Mumbai, had scored 118 runs in 106 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 9 fours.
Thanks to the innings of Musheer and captain Uday Saharan (75), India scored a big score of 301 runs in 50 overs against Ireland. In response, the Irish team was all out for 100 runs. For India, Naman Tiwari took 4 wickets and Soumya Pandey took 3 wickets.
I was checking the scores of both of them on mobile: Sarfaraz’s father
This moment will never be forgotten for Sarfaraz and Musheer’s father Naushad. He was also finding it difficult to monitor the performance of both his sons. Naushad told, I had gone to Hyderabad to receive the Madhavrao Scindia Trophy (highest run scorer in domestic cricket in 2022) on behalf of Sarfaraz Khan in the BCCI’s annual awards. When I was about to board the flight to Lucknow, Sarfaraz Khan was batting on 145 and Musheer was batting on 45. Till then I was watching Musheer’s batting on mobile and checking Sarfaraz’s score on my friend’s phone. However, after this I boarded the flight and could not see Musheer’s century.
Naushad further said that Sarfaraz is continuously scoring runs in domestic cricket and I am sure that one day he will definitely play for India.
Sarfaraz continues to score runs for India A
Sarfaraz is continuously scoring runs in domestic cricket. He is currently playing for India A and has scored 96, 4 and 55 before scoring 150 runs in the series against England Lions.
