CR Sivan resigns from Congress party.

CR Sivan resigns from Congress party.

CR Kesavan, the great-grandson of India’s first Governor General C Rajagopalachari, on Thursday resigned from the Congress party. In his resignation letter addressed to Congress Party President Mallikarjun Kharge, CR Kesavan said that he does not see any remnants of the earlier values in the party. Which inspired him to work for the party for more than two decades.

With that said, I can no longer in good conscience say that I currently agree with the party’s symbol and values. He further wrote in the letter that this is the reason why I recently refused to take up an organizational responsibility at the national level and refrained from joining the Congress Party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

With this, he said that it is time for me to chart a new path and hence I resign from the primary membership of the Congress Party with immediate effect. I have also submitted my resignation as a Trustee of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Charitable Trust to the appropriate authority. After submitting his resignation, he also put an end to speculations that he might join any other party. CR Kesavan said that he himself does not know what will happen next, nor have I contacted any party in this regard.
