Mizoram Election Result Date Changed: Voting for the assembly elections of five states of the country has ended. Now people are eagerly waiting for the results to be declared on 3rd December. Meanwhile, big information has come to light regarding the date of counting of assembly elections from Mizoram. Actually, today i.e. Friday, the date of counting of votes in the state has been changed. In Mizoram, counting of votes will now take place on 4th December instead of 3rd December. The Election Commission has issued a notification giving this information. The notification said that the people of the state had requested that the date of the assembly election results be changed.
Election Commission gave information
The Commission said that after considering these representations, it has decided to change the date of counting of votes for Mizoram Assembly from December 3 to December 4. After this decision, the results of Mizoram Assembly elections will not be declared along with other four states Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Let us tell you that voting was held in a single phase in Mizoram on November 7 and more than 80 percent voting was recorded.
Know why the date was changed
Let us tell you that a large number of people of Christian community live in Mizoram. Sunday is a holy day for Christians. Since December 3 was a Sunday, people of Mizoram were demanding change of the date. Organizations like NGOCC, Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) and Mizo Jiralai Paul (MZP) were protesting against this.
When was the voting held?
These people held a rally near Raj Bhavan today i.e. on Friday. In which NGOCC Chairman Lalhamchuana accused the Election Commission that even after political parties, churches and NGOs appealed to the Election Commission several times to change the counting date, no response was given. However, the Election Commission has now accepted the views of the people of Mizoram and has changed the date of counting. Let us tell you that voting took place on 40 seats in the state on 7 November and the results were to come on 3 December. Which will now come on 4th December.
