Dhamtari. According to the schedule of Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association, Dhamtari District Cricket Association has completed the selection process of Dhamtari District Under-23 and Seniors cricket team on 17th September at PG College Cricket Stadium.
Ajay Babar, Secretary of District Cricket Association Dhamtari, said that the process of selection of teams went on from 10 am to 6 pm. Around 65 players from the region participated in the selection process. Before starting the selection process, fitness test was taken after checking the documents of all the players. The players found fit in the fitness test were tested as per their expertise in batting, bowling and wicket keeping. 20 players each were selected for the Under-23 and Seniors cricket teams. Apart from these, 5 players were selected as reserve players.
Excellent cricketers started emerging from Dhamtari district
Players from Dhamtari district performed better in the selection process and attracted the attention of the selectors. Let it be known that since last 2010, Dhamtari District Cricket Association has been making efforts towards improving the talent of talented cricket players of Under-24, Under-16, Under-19, Under-23, Senior and Women categories. During this period, many male and female players have also represented the plate, elite and state level teams of Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association.

Dhamtari District Cricket Association has been carrying out the work of maintenance and upkeep of PG College Cricket Stadium with full responsibility since last 2018. After maintenance by Dhamtari District Cricket Association, the cricket ground has become absolutely magnificent. Three turf wickets have been built in the middle of a 70 yard field with lush green grass. As soon as you enter the ground, a practice wicket with 5 nets has also been constructed on the left side. At present Dhamtari District Cricket Association has also started a Cricket Academy. Coaching in the academy is being done under the guidance of state level cricket player Sunil Borkar.
Players from many states have praised the ground
District, state level players as well as national level cricket players have played in this ground. During the All India Advocate Competition, players from Delhi, Kerala, Bihar and other states openly praised this ground and described it as the ground for state level matches.
