Cash for query Case:A big decision can be taken today regarding the Lok Sabha membership of TMC MP Mahua Moitra. The Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha will meet today i.e. on Thursday in the Cash for query case. After this the meeting committee will submit its report to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. If reports are to be believed, the Ethics Committee of Parliament has recommended disqualification of MP Mahua Moitra from the Lok Sabha in view of the ongoing investigation in the Cash for Query case.
According to media reports, the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha is investigating the allegations against Mahua Moitra after the allegations by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. There will be a meeting regarding this today i.e. on Thursday. The Conduct Committee can ask Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to cancel the Parliament membership of Mahua Moitra. Only after this can a decision be taken against TMC MP Mahua. Earlier on Wednesday, the Parliamentary Committee had recommended termination of Moitra’s membership.
500 pages report has been prepared against Mahua.
If reports are to be believed, the committee has prepared a detailed report of 500 pages in the Cash for Query case. In this, the actions of TMC MP Mahua Moitra have been described as extremely objectionable, immoral and criminal. Apart from this, the committee has also demanded strict punishment against the TMC MP.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Mahua Moitra.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Mahua Moitra of taking bribe. He alleges that Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani have taken ‘bribes’ for asking questions in Parliament in exchange for cash and gifts. Mahua Moitra has denied all these allegations. He has also sent a legal notice to BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Jai Anant Dehadrai.
