Bypoll election results 2023 LIVE Updates: Counting of votes has started in Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat of Punjab and four assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Meghalaya. The counting of votes to decide the fate of the candidates has started at 8 am. Voting was held on May 10 for the bypolls to the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat, Jharsuguda in Odisha, Sohiong in Meghalaya, Chanbe and Swar seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Sushil Rinku took a decisive lead

As per the updates till 11 am, Sushil Rinku of Aam Aadmi Party is maintaining a decisive lead. Sushil Rinku is now leading over Karamjeet Kaur of INC with a lead of 34000 votes.

AAP is leading by more than 7000 votes in Jalandhar based on the counting till 10 am. Aam Aadmi Party candidates are continuously taking lead.

UDP lead in Sohyeong seat

The United Democratic Party candidate is leading in Meghalaya’s Sohyeong Assembly seat.

BJD headed for victory in Jharsuguda seat

In Odisha’s Jharsuguda, Deepali Das of BJD is leading by more than 21000 votes.

SP candidate ahead in Chanbe seat

Samajwadi Party’s Kirti Kol is leading by 3348 votes from UP’s Chanbe constituency. Rinke Cole was ahead in the first few rounds, then SP candidate Kirti took the lead.

According to the official website of the Election Commission, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidates are leading in Jharsuguda seat of Odisha. Apna Dal has made an edge in the Swar assembly seat of Rampur in UP. Whereas, SP’s Kirti Kol is leading in the Chanbe by-election with 5426 votes. Counting has also started from 8 am in the Sohiong assembly seat in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills.
