PM Modi-Mohammed Bin Salman Meet: The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia is on a state visit to India after attending the G-20 summit held in the country’s national capital New Delhi. He is staying here for bilateral talks with PM Modi after the G-20 summit. Before the meeting, the Saudi Crown Prince attended a formal welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace. During the program he also met President Draupadi Murmu, PM Modi and other ministers.
Bilateral talks begin in Hyderabad House
According to media reports, after meeting the Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman will sign the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council at Hyderabad House around noon. Giving information, the Ministry of External Affairs said that both the leaders will also review the development done so far under the two ministerial committees of the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council, i.e. Political, Security, Social and Cultural Cooperation Committee and Economic and Investment Cooperation Committee.
Saudi Crown Prince’s second state visit to India
The Saudi Crown Prince had earlier visited India on a state visit in February 2019 and this is his second state visit. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation including ministers and senior officials. The visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia in October 2019, during which the two countries established a bilateral mechanism, the Strategic Partnership Council.
India-Saudi Arabia relations
Relations between India and Saudi Arabia have been friendly. Trade between the two countries was expected to reach around US $ 52.75 billion in 2022-23. India is Saudi Arabia’s second largest trading partner, while Saudi Arabia is India’s fourth largest trading partner. There is also a strong partnership in the energy sector between the two countries.
