The Varanasi District Court has given an important decision on Tuesday in the Gyanvapi Controversy. The District Judge of Varanasi ordered that all the seven cases related to the Gyanvapi case will now be heard together. While hearing on this, on Monday, the District Judge had reserved the decision after the hearing. An appeal was filed in the district court on behalf of four women litigants, Sita Sahu, Manju Vyas, Lakshmi Devi and Rekha Pathak, related to the Gyanvapi Shringar Gauri case. In this, he had said that these seven cases are of the same nature and are related to the same case. Its hearing is going on at different places in Varanasi itself. Therefore, all these should be heard at one place.

In the year 2021, five women filed a petition in the local court demanding the right to worship at the Shringar Gauri site located in the Gyanvapi mosque complex. A year later in April 2022, a senior division court ordered a survey of the mosque premises. This survey was completed in one month i.e. in the year 2022. During this, an alleged Shivling was allegedly found in the mosque. However, the Muslim side denied this and said that it is not a Shivling, it is a fountain.
