The Union Minister said on Thursday that he would soon visit Manipur and stay in the northeastern state for three days. Along with this, he said that he would talk to the people of Manipur to establish peace in the violence-hit state. This comes after the latest incidents of violence in Manipur.

Talking about the violence in Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that there were clashes after the court’s decision. He said that I would appeal to both the groups to maintain peace and justice would be done to all. Shah further said that he himself would go to Manipur in a few days and stay there for at least three days. Along with this, he said that I will go to the violence affected areas there and talk to the people of the state to establish peace.

It may be noted that earlier this month, during the ‘Tribal Solidarity March’ called by the All Tribal Student’s Union Manipur (ATSUM) in several districts of Manipur, there was a demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to non-tribal Meiteis in Torbang area of ​​Churachandpur district. There was violence in protest against the demand.

Thousands of agitators took part in the rally, during which clashes broke out between tribals and non-tribals. Following the violence, curfew was imposed in eight districts of Manipur and mobile internet services were suspended for several days in the entire northeastern state.
