Difference between Malaria and Dengue: The risk of dengue, malaria and chikungunya diseases is increasing due to floods and waterlogging in many parts of the country. The reason behind the increase in dengue cases in the country is heavy rains and waterlogging-like conditions. As you know, the number of mosquitoes increases during the rainy season, due to which there are many complaints of dengue and malaria among the people. Health experts believe that due to receding flood water and stagnation of water at many places, the risk of mosquitoes breeding is high.

Dengue is a disease that is spread by the bite of mosquitoes infected with dengue virus. Severe dengue is a life-threatening condition with worsening of dengue symptoms. Warning signs of severe dengue usually appear 24 to 48 hours after the fever goes away.

When a mosquito infected with the dengue virus bites, the virus can enter your bloodstream and make copies of itself in your body. The virus and your defense system’s response can make you feel sick.
What is malaria and what are its symptoms?
Malaria is a disease caused by a parasite that is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes. People who have malaria usually feel very ill with a high fever and chills. Common symptoms of malaria include fever, chills, general feeling of discomfort, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, muscle or joint pain, fatigue, rapid breathing, and cough.
Difference between malaria and dengue fever
According to experts, fever in malaria has a cyclical pattern, occurring every 24 to 72 hours, depending on the type of malaria parasite involved. It can also cause anemia and an enlarged spleen. Whereas dengue fever often occurs with a sudden onset of symptoms such as high fever, severe headache (usually behind the eyes), joint and muscle pain, rash, mild bleeding (nose or gums), fatigue, lasting for 1–2 days. Persistent high fever is also included.
