Gurugram. For the first time in , doctors treated a 66-year-old female patient from Iraq with Power Spiral Enteroscopy. The woman was suffering from bleeding in the small intestine. Who was treated at Fortis Hospital in Gurugram.

On this occasion, Chairman of Gastroenterology and Hepato-Biliary Sciences, Fortis Memorial Institute, Gurugram, Dr. Gourdas Chowdhary and Additional Director, Dr. Rinkesh Kumar Bansal said that till now about 22 feet long small intestine was examined by endoscopy, but the entire Visceral information could not be found. The Iraqi woman had been suffering from bleeding (melena) for several years. Due to which there was a continuous lack of blood in the woman. The woman had to transfuse two to three units of blood every month. This woman was brought to Fortis Memorial Center in Gurugram. Where the doctors successfully treated the woman with the help of a rare procedure called Power Spiral Enteroscopy.

Dr. Rinkesh Kumar Bansal says that this procedure has been adopted for the first time in . Spiral enteroscopy was used for treatment. The female patient said that she had this problem for a long time, due to which she also had anemia and liver problems.
