Air Pollution:The level of air pollution in Delhi reaches severe category every year even before the onset of winter. Even today AQI 432 has been recorded in Anand Vihar, Delhi. It has become difficult to breathe in the suffocating air. People have been advised that if there is no urgent work, it is better to stay at home. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there is 16 times more pollution in Delhi as per the prescribed standards. Yesterday, the level of pollutant particles 2.5 in Delhi was 243 micrograms per cubic meter, which was 16 times more than the World Health Organization (WHO) standard. Due to this dangerous level of pollution, people are facing problems like difficulty in breathing, irritation in eyes, sore nose and throat.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that the level of pollutant particles 2.5 in the air should not exceed 15 micrograms per cubic meter. If the air level is higher than this, the air is harmful to health. According to Indian standards, the level of PM 2.5 in the air should not exceed 60 micrograms per cubic meter.
Follow these few workout tips to combat air pollution.
If you currently have to work out outdoors, wear a face mask so that toxic particles do not reach the lungs.
It is better to work out outside when the level of air pollution is low.
If you’re going to work out outside, work out in less polluted areas, such as a park, if possible.
You can do high-intensity interval training workouts. This burns more calories in less time, so you will be able to stay out for less time.
Keep an eye on AQI before and after working out, if the pollution level is very high then do the workout at home.
Drink as much water as possible after working out, so that the pollution that has entered the body through breath can come out.
When air pollution levels are high and you are suffering from any health problem, talk to your doctor before working out.
Wash your clothes immediately after your workout, so that the pollution on them does not enter your body.
In case of increasing air pollution, install an air purifier to purify the indoor air.
