Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) chief and wanted terrorist Paramjit Singh Panjwar was killed in Jauhar Town, Lahore, Pakistan this morning. According to media reports, he was killed by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons near his house at Sunflower Society in Johar town at around 6 am. At this time Paramjit Singh Panjwad was walking with his gunman. The gunman was injured during the firing, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Despite Pakistan’s refusal, Panjwad was living in Lahore, while his wife and children had moved to Germany.

Paramjit Singh Panjwad alias Malik Sardar Singh branded himself as a radical Khalistani. He was a wanted terrorist who headed the Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) terrorist organization. Former KCF chief and Paramjit’s cousin Labh Singh was eliminated by the Indian security forces. After this the command of KCF was taken over by Paramjeet. Top of the list of most wanted terrorists harbored by Pakistan, Panjwad kept KCF alive by raising funds through cross-border smuggling of arms and heroin. He was a key conspirator in the 2010 bomb blasts in Patiala and Ambala cities. Paramjeet Singh Panjwad had got a bomb blasted near the passport office in Chandigarh on June 30, 1999. 4 people were injured in this blast.

Paramjit Singh Panjwad was born in Panjwad village near Tarn Taran, Punjab. He left India for Pakistan in 1994 and raised funds for the Babbar Khalsa, a banned organization that calls for separatism in Western countries with significant Indian expatriate populations. He joined KCF in 1986 after being radicalized by his cousin Labh Singh, prior to which he was working in a Central Cooperative Bank in Sohal. He was arrested by the Portuguese police in December 2015 after a Red Corner Notice was issued by Interpol on the request of the Government of India. He was later set free after India’s request for extradition was rejected by the Portuguese government. In recent times, Paramjeet was allegedly involved in drug and arms smuggling through unmanned drones in Indian Punjab.
