An increased incidence of road accidents has come to the fore from Bangladesh. Today on Sunday, a bus lost control and fell into a ditch in Madaripur. There were about 50 people in the bus. At the same time, so far 17 people have died in this accident, while 30 people have been injured. The condition of many of the injured remains critical, so the death toll could rise further. A Dhaka-bound bus operated by Emad Transport went out of control and fell into a gorge at Madaripur at around 7.30 am on Sunday, police said.

According to media reports, there was panic among the people after the bus overturned on Sunday morning. This information was immediately given to the police. Police reached the spot, rescued the people and admitted the injured to the hospital for treatment. The death toll in the accident is continuously increasing. There were about 50 people in the bus. In this, 17 people have lost their lives, while 30 people have been badly injured. Madaripur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Masood Alam said that the condition of many of the injured is critical, so the death toll may increase. On enquiry, it was told that the accident happened due to negligent driving and mechanical fault in the bus.

While giving information about the incident, Deputy Assistant Director of Faridpur Fire Service, Shiplu Ahmed said that the tire of the bus had burst, due to which the bus lost its control and fell into the ditch. After the accident, three vehicles of the fire department reached the spot. The identity of the dead and injured is yet to be ascertained.
